Submission: Review of South Australia's lobbying laws
Transparency International Australia welcomes the opportunity to make the following submission into the inquiry into South Australia's Lobbyist Act (2015) and in the spirit of SA's democratic pioneering, we encourage the South Australian Parliament to implement changes to become a leader in lobbying regulation. This will incentivise other jurisdictions in Australia including the Commonwealth to introduce similar changes.
This submission responds to the review of South Australia's lobbying laws, drawing on Transparency International (TI) research, TI Australia's National Integrity Systems Assessment: A Blueprint for Action, TI Australia's Behind Closed Doors: A Comparative Jurisdictional Analysis of Australia's Lobbying Rules (2025), the OECD, and other research.
