The Victorian Government's announcement on 2 June that it will adopt the Proust Review Integrity Model, including the establishment of a Victorian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (VIACC), is an important milestone in promoting integrity and effectively combating corruption in Victoria. The Proust Review and the Government's response can be found on the Victorian State Services Authority website.

Corruption - the abuse of entrusted power in Australia
'Corruption - the abuse of entrusted power in Australia', an essay by Tim Smith, examines the causes, consequences and ways of addressing corruption, with particular reference to Australia. Tim Smith is a retired Judge of the Victorian Supreme Court and presently holds the position of Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management, Faculty of Business and Economics, at Monash University. He chairs the Accountability Round Table, a non-partisan group of citizens from diverse backgrounds who are concerned to promote open and accountable government in Australia. His essay is published by The Australian Collaboration.
